How to report an image

Any individual can report an image when you feel it should be removed from Mapillary. The Mapillary team will review the request and schedule the image for deletion if we agree the image violates Mapillary's Terms of Use.

You can report an image by viewing an image by selecting Image options, the Advanced dropdown, and Report image.

Carefully select a reason for reporting the image from one of the dropdown options:

1. The content is violating privacy.
2. The content is inappropriate.
3. The image is low quality.
4. The image has an inaccurate location.
5. The content is unlawful.
6. Other.

The content is violating privacy.

Examples include photos taken inside private residences, unblurred photos of faces or license plates, and photos in restricted areas. See Privacy and Mapillary's Privacy Policy.

The content is inappropriate.

This category includes content unsuitable for a street-level imagery platform. Examples include selfies, and product advertising.

The image is low quality.

Quality is subjective. Ask yourself, "is this image helpful for mapping." Some images are slightly blurry, but contain information such as speed-limits and road surface type that can be helpful for mapping. Report low quality images when they contain no helpful images such as images taken in the ocean, dark images, and images where the windshield obscures the view.

The image has an inaccurate location.

You can select this option when you notice images with a GPS position that does not match the content of the image. Small deviations in GPS are fine (<30 meters), but a common example are images with 0,0 GPS coordinates which end up appearing on Null Island.

The content in unlawful.

Users in the European Union can report unlawful content by filling out this form. Meta will work with the Mapillary team to review and take action.=
