The Mapillary community consists of all the people and organizations that are involved with capturing, uploading and/or using the images. Regardless of the specific activities, the whole community is connected by a common mission: to understand the world through street-level images. And this indeed regards the whole world, with community members in more than 190 countries.
Take a look at our blog for some inspiring community stories.
There are a number of ways for you to connect with Mapillary community members around the world.
- Commenting. As the number of images on Mapillary has grown, so too has the sense of community. Currently, the best way to engage with other users is to view one of their images and write a comment via the comment button. Note that you can mention specific users by adding the @ symbol in front of the username (e.g. @katrin).
- Forum. You can also join the conversation on the Mapillary forum where users share all kinds of information from ideas on how to remove windshield glare to their favorite sequences from around the world. There are also region pages where you can discuss things in other languages than English.
- Social media. Share your ideas and activities by mentioning or tagging Mapillary on Twitter or Facebook. We have a few hashtags set up to make this easier, like #MapillaryExplore for sharing your best captures, and #MapillaryPhotoWalk when you're holding a photo mapping event.
- Publicity. We are always interested in hearing about your activities. You are very welcome to let us know how and what your local community is doing, and if you are up for some writing, we are happy to feature your events and projects on our blog to inspire the wider Mapillary community.
