Uploading
- You can upload images either straight from our mobile apps or by using our Desktop Uploader tool.
- The images will be processed on the Mapillary system: combined together with other images from the area, faces and license plates blurred (read more about our technology).
- You can reach the upload via your profile or feed.
- Click on the item to open it and navigate around the imagery.
- Use the images to show places and extract map data (read more about using images).
Note: Make sure that the locations of images and their compass angles are correct before uploading the images, as these cannot be corrected once imagery is uploaded to Mapillary.

If I may ask an awkward question...
Why does Mapillary not have the ability for us to adjust the GPS position etc of OUR uploaded images?
By not being able to correct GPS inaccuracies, or 360 image rotations, the quality of the data is much worse.
In my research, I found that Mapillary was once able to edit image positions, but that was removed 4 or 5 years ago.
Nor can we change the sequence order.
I can understand that for imports involving hundred or thousands of images, from a continuous track, that editing position or sequence order could be onerous without a sophisticated editor.
But there are certainly people like me trying to contribute in some small way to documentation of the area around us, that are using MUCH smaller numbers of images.
The Desktop Uploader would seem to be the PERFECT place to give this ability to tweak image location, etc. After the images have been processed, but before they get uploaded...
Hi Norman,
Thanks for the feedback. You're correct that we had this functionality in the past. We're actually working on Desktop Uploader improvements to give users more options to edit images before upload. Editing images after they have been uploaded is problematic for a couple of reasons:
That being said, the Desktop Uploader is well suited to help correct smaller issues you may notice before upload.
Stay tuned!
